This role is designed for an early‑career professional who is strong in SQL and relational data concepts and wants hands‑on experience building real reporting and data solutions for live client environments. You will work closely with experienced BI Developers, Data Engineers, and Implementation Consultants to translate business and project controls needs into reliable database objects, reports, and dashboards.
This is a growth‑oriented role. As your technical foundation develops, you will have the opportunity to deepen your expertise and progress toward more advanced work in data engineering, systems integrations, or Power BI development, depending on your interests and strengths.
Responsibilities:
Working as part of a collaborative delivery team, responsibilities include:
Build, maintain, and enhance SSRS reports against the PMWeb SQL Server database, translating functional requirements into accurate, well‑structured reporting outputs.
Develop and optimize SQL database objects including views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to support client‑specific reporting, workflows, and integrations.
Partner directly with implementation consultants and, as appropriate, client stakeholders to clarify requirements, troubleshoot issues, and communicate technical solutions.
Manage assigned work queue items with increasing independence, including estimating effort, meeting deadlines, and owning quality of deliverables.
Participate in solution design discussions, contributing ideas around data structure, performance, and scalability as technical experience grows.
Follow internal standards for code quality, documentation, and deployment to ensure consistency across client environments.
As experience increases, the role may expand into one or more of the following areas:
Scripting & Integrations: Supporting data exchanges between PMWeb and external systems using SQL, PowerShell, and REST APIs.
Data Engineering: Assisting with the design and development of dimensional models and data warehouse layers, including work within Microsoft Fabric–based architectures.
Power BI Development: Designing and delivering Power BI datasets, reports, and dashboards that surface actionable insights for project and executive stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
Strong working knowledge of SQL, including joins, aggregations, subqueries, and an understanding of relational database design principles.
Ability and willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and client environments in a consulting setting.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high‑quality work.
Ability to take guidance while progressively working more independently.
Exposure to SSRS, Power BI, PowerShell, or Python is a plus but not required.
