The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Lead Consultant to join our growing Commercial Advisory team, based in our Sydney office. We are looking for someone who has front-end strategic procurement, transaction, and commercial experience.
HKA’s Commercial Advisory business provides advice to a range of organisations including large government and private entities across a range of sectors, including utility, aerospace, transport and energy.
In this role you will have exposure to our different service lines including Strategic Procurement, Contracting, Commercial Maturity, and Supply Chain Optimisation.
You will be responsible for the following:
Developing procurement and delivery strategies including packaging, contract and commercial models for major, complex, and/or high-value infrastructure projects.
Delivering complex procurement transactions including industry engagement, tender management, negotiation and assurance recommendation documents.
Developing initiatives and contributing to the growth of the business.
Supporting the management of key stakeholder client relationships.
Skills and Experience:
We are seeking individuals with proven project, procurement and commercial experience, knowledge of construction commercial principles and a willingness to learn and develop.
Ideally you will possess the following skills and experience:
Degree qualification in any related discipline, including but not limited to Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Project Management, Procurement, Law, Accounting, Commerce.
Strategically minded, with the initiative and eagerness to develop strategies to overcome challenges.
Willingness to support and contribute to the professional development of others within the team.
Sound working knowledge of public sector procurement and probity principles.
Experience developing procurement, commercial and contracting strategies for major infrastructure projects.
Robust understanding and experience working with standard form or bespoke contracts, commercial acumen and working with clients and the supply chain to achieve value for money and risk reduction.
Experience managing the tendering process from requirements gathering through to contract award, including developing procurement and internal assurance documentation.
Proven ability to create trusting and lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Ability to prioritise and manage your own time in an environment with several competing requirements.
