The Opportunity:

Based in either London or Glasgow, as a Managing Consultant within our Quantum Construction Claims and Expert Services team, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of quantum analysis and commercial advice on complex construction disputes and claims.

This role is ideal for an experienced commercial professional, quantity surveyor or contracts specialist who has developed strong industry experience and is looking to further their career within construction claims, disputes and expert services.

Working closely with experienced consultants and testifying experts, you will assist in the analysis of project records, contractual issues and financial information, whilst developing your expertise in quantum assessment and dispute resolution.

You will play a key role in our delivery by:

• Analysing project, contractual and financial records to support the assessment of claims and disputes.

• Assisting with the preparation of quantum analyses relating to variations, prolongation, disruption and damages.

• Supporting the preparation of expert reports, presentations and client deliverables.

• Managing defined workstreams and delivering high-quality outputs within agreed timescales.

• Building positive relationships with clients and project stakeholders.

• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across HKA's international business.

• Supporting business development activities including proposals, networking and client engagement.

• Developing your knowledge of dispute resolution processes including adjudication, arbitration and litigation.

Skills and Experience:

We're looking for an ambitious professional who brings:

• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline.

• Typically 5+ years' experience within the construction or engineering industry.

• Experience in commercial management, quantity surveying, contract administration or project controls.

• Knowledge of major forms of construction contracts.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• The ability to review and interpret complex project documentation.

• Professional membership of RICS, CIOB, CIArb or equivalent, or progression towards chartership is preferred.

• Previous claims, disputes or expert witness experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
