The Opportunity:
Our Oil & Gas Forensic Technical Services team are looking for an experienced industry professional who can provide expert level and advisory support to a broad range of single and multi-discipline client engagements within the domain of Well Engineering, Well Construction and Well Operations. The base location for the post is flexible, ideally UK, Europe or Middle East.
As part of the role you will be responsible for:
- Providing support to the broader FTS team through knowledge and experience in Well related issues.
- Working actively with colleagues in the FTS Oil & Gas team in providing an integrated source of expert level industry knowledge and expertise.
- Retrospective and forensic technical analysis of projects in dispute.
- Acting as Expert Witness within the Well Engineering discipline, as a discrete issue or as part of a multi discipline expert team.
- Acting in an Advisory capacity to legal teams and clients on Well related issues.
- Assisting colleagues in the delivering the highest quality of deliverables by providing peer review input across Oil & Gas disciplines.
Skills and Experience:
Ideally you will possess the following skills and experience:
- Circa 20 years of design or combined field experience within Well Engineering, Construction and/or Operational disciplines.
- Significant experience and detailed knowledge of Drilling, Completion, Intervention and Artificial Lift equipment and related procedures / best practice.
- Significant experience and detailed knowledge of Well Control, Pressure Control and Emergency Response equipment and related procedures / best practice.
- Experience and Knowledge of current rig systems for Mud, Cuttings, Pipe and general material handling.
- Detailed knowledge of applicable standards and regulatory compliance requirements in general and in specific oilfield provinces. (NORSOK etc).
- Knowledge of metallurgy and corrosion an advantage.
- Experience in Expert Witness work an advantage.
