The Opportunity

As our Practice Manager, you will play a key role in working closely with our talented Advisory Senior Management Team (SMT) and Business Services teams (HR, Recruitment, Marketing, Finance and Business Support), to ensure effective day-to-day operations of our Advisory practice. You will work collaboratively with our experienced Consultants, Project Managers and sub-contractors to help manage our practice operations. You will be responsible for ensuring that our project management and financial reporting and processes are accurate and efficient, and effectively dovetail into HKA’s broader operational systems.

You will be responsible for the following, but not limited to;

  • Leading the management of the monthly reporting and SMT meeting cycle to build strong governance and assurance.
  • Working closely with the Advisory Senior Management Team (SMT) to ensure the effective day-to-day operations of the Advisory practice. 
  • Working closely in a partnering approach with the Business Services teams (HR, Recruitment, Marketing, Finance and Business Support) to support whole of region and whole of company initiatives and requirements.
  • Implementing and optimising Advisory project, resourcing and financial reporting processes (e.g. forecasting) to best meet reporting requirements both within the Advisory practice and the broader HKA business.
  • Liaising with the SMT and Project Managers to collate, validate and report on project and account information.
  • Providing insight to support the improvement of the Advisory organisation.
  • Collaborating locally and globally across HKA on business improvement initiatives.
  • Managing the efficient and effective use of ‘on-boarded’ sub-contractors.
  • Supporting the coordination and preparation of project management records.
  • Meeting organisation and administration.
  • Supporting Business Development and Marketing activities, including being a champion on the use of HKA’s CRM system.
  • Supporting client management activities.

Skills and Experience 

Professional skills and competencies:

  • Commercial acumen and understanding of financial impacts of decisions in respect of both internal use of resources and external sub-contractors.
  • High degree of initiative and a willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks and provide innovative solutions and improvements to work practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare presentations and briefs in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Highly numerate with attention to detail and proficient in the use of MS Excel and preferably Power BI and CRM systems.
  • Strong prioritisation skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and provide timely feedback.
  • Previous experience as a Business Analyst or Practice Manager in another professional services or corporate environment.
  • Previous exposure to financial and commercial analysis including the use of analytical tools such as Power BI.
  • Previous experience in roles requiring a high degree of confidentiality and professional discretion.

Desired background and experience:
